Trailer Talk: Collective

AN OLD ENEMY

(Delta Flyer hauls butt away from a cube)

Borg (phlegm) voice: We are the Borg

(Seven's head snaps up in alarm)

BUT A NEW GENERATION

(Gen X Borg Boy attempts a menacing look from Voyager's bridge viewscreen)

Doctor: Captain, they're children!

(Borgette joins Borg Boy, et.al., in what looks like the prelude to "Borg of the Dance", Seven scans Chakotay - probably checking for signs of life)

Seven: Don't let their appearance fool you.

(Younger Borg Boy inputs commands into a Borg console - only it more closely resembles how a toddler would shove mashed potatoes up his baby sister's nose)

Seven: They are in control of this vessel.

(Tom flies away in pain from a Borg console, Borg Boy tries another menacing look - the nose prosthetic gives him away as a Voyager-era Borg)

SO YOUNG

(Voyager fires a spread of photon torpedoes, the Delta Flyer gets its butt kicked again)

Mashed Potato Borg (who looks uncannily like my snotty young nerd-nephew, Nelson): Your weapon won't work here.

(Voyager's bridge blows! The crew is shaken and stirred)

AND SO DEADLY

(Borg Boy shoves Janeway against the wall with a forearm shiver to the neck)

Borg Boy: Comply!

(Janeway and Borg Boy are nose to nose - what is it about Voyager and noses?)

Borg Boy: Or your hostages die. (_This_ is what happens when you assimilate before graduation...isn't it more grammatically correct to say "Or _our_ hostages die"?)

(An obviously badly wounded Harry is tended by Seven)

VOYAGER

(End credits, Star Trek Voyager: Children of the Borg*)

*I'm sure the allusion to Stephen King's "Children of the Corn" is completely unintentional.
