A ROUTINE MISSION

(shuttle cruises the Delta Quadrant's Saturn)

WITH AN INEXPERIENCED CREW

(an ensign looks bravely up, a Bajoran woman and another brave-faced
ensign share a look - I'm sorry but I just HAVE to say this:  how the hell
do you stay "inexperienced" after SIX FURKIN YEARS ON 24-7 DUTY!?!?!?.
Okay, back to the review.)

Seven (to Chakotay):  Their behavior is chaotic.  (I never noticed before
that Chakotay and chaotic start with the same three letters.  Hmmmm)

TURNS INTO A FIGHT

(shuttle gets its butt whooped, Janeway is shaken and stirred - love the
hair toss, shuttle crew is shaken and stirred)

Janeway (command voice):  What's out there?

Brave-Faced Ensign (whines ungrammatically):  I coulda been killed.

(Bajoran ensign gives the whiner such a look)

FOR SURVIVAL

Bajoran ensign:  Captain!

(Janeway's head whips around - cool!  two hair tosses!, icky creature
crawls on the neck of a screaming third ensign as the Bajoran gives HIM
such a look, Janeway - with yet a THIRD hair toss - watches the creature
hop from the ensign to a console)

Whiny ensign:  We gotta stop it. (If enunciation is an indicator, I think
we know why he's still an ensign.)

Janeway (with command voice AND command stinky face):  Hold your fire!

(icky creature crawls on the console and the console begins to blow)

ON AN ALL NEW

(the shuttle is starting to blow now as the whiny ensign grabs for his
phaser while Janeway stands station watching the creature, whiny ensign
fires his phaser in the shuttle! - the beam is red, folks, that ain't no
stun setting...oooh, he's in SO much TROUBLE)
